We are a small kennel based in Houston, Texas concentrating on quality, health and temperament. We breed for good health and temperament and confirmation to the breed standard. We are members in good standing of the Akita Club of America, ACA. We are active in AKC confirmation showing.
Kyo-Ken Akitas subscribes to the philosophy of our dogs as pets first, show dogs second. We love and admire this breed tremendously.

Kathy has been in Akitas over 20 years and has tremendous knowledge of the breed. She first fell in love with Akitas after seeing Fran Keyes with Ch. OBJ's The Coal Miner in the local Houston arenas. Her first Akita was Nikki. She first started showing with her second Akita, Sasha. Kathy is one of those people who all animals love at first sight; she has that special touch.
